Is there a cost for sharing my data to researchers through SEAL?
There is no cost for those sharing data with researchers.
The main commitment on your part is working with us to define the conditions under which researchers can access the data and the rules for what they can publish. We will also need updated versions of the data on a regular basis (often annually). Some data owners choose to vet researchers and their results directly, while others rely on SEAL to do the vetting.
Researchers have academic freedom and a fundamental commitment to the truth. You (or SEAL as your surrogate) can approve or disprove individual studies and control what they share for privacy reasons. We cannot dictate what a researcher finds. For legitimate reasons, some of your data may not be something you want to open for external analysis. What data you choose to make available is entirely up to you.
